The logic behind a safety origination isn't to see how many are or are not working it is could there be possible harm to people owning, riding or confronting a vehicle that could pose a problem! So how many airplanes do you need to fall from the sky to ground them???? answer,,,,,,, 1!!! Not,,, well lets see there are 5000 747's and one just fell from the sky,.,,,,, oh well must of bin the only bad one!! Dah again,, once it happens they ground everyone until they find out why,,, and fix or update all the other ones! So when they get a complaint,,,, unfortunately it normally isn't from the passenger!! I know it is off topic as to death and the EcoBoost but I will go out on a limb and say,,, it is only a matter of time!

mamonti, I applaud your efforts to want more F150 owners to voice there complaints. One thing I have found over the many years is the NHTSA and similar govt agencies work too damn slow to affect any change in todays vehicles, in a time frame to help the owners of defected vehicles. By the time anyone reacts (NHTSA or FORD) to the issue we will have all sold our trucks and moved on. Toyota never conceded there were any issues with there vehicles when everyone was crashing and dying with the stuck accelerator and there still selling cars/trucks. The harsh reality is FORD doesn't give a dam about you or me or any F150 buyer. If they did they would have issued an immediate recall to fix the issue. As far as there concerned, there is no safety issue.

So does it matter to you if Ford drops the ball and your 38,000 dollar EcoBoost is thousands less value than the same model and year as a 5.0??? Guess you may be a little concerned then,,, but at least you can come back here and post,,, "But it never happened to mine". Good luck with that! I think instead of posting yours works you better start hoping that Ford fixes the problem before the lawsuits and government get to involved unless you are planning on keeping your truck for the rest of your life. I bought a new truck every other year and when I bought this one at 57 years old I started looking at saving the 8 to 10 grand I spend on doing the upgrade for my retirement... Now I guess I will getting rid of this if it isn't fixed soon before I lose my butt. So I am hoping ford picks up the ball so I don't have to trade it off and so that I can afford to repair it down the road without spending my retirement funds to just keep it on the road! Just so you know I own 3 vehicles and they are all Fords! Go to the Mustang and Ranger forums and see if I am bashing Ford there!! You won't find any!!! All cars and trucks can and do have issues, the reason we are in this post is because they can't fix it!!

Almost every thread I read about an EcoBoost shudder occurs when they are pulling out in front of a Semi doing 70, or trying to pass when there is oncoming traffic.
I'm not doubting the issue but wonder why every occurrence has to be some sensational event.

Or people need to use some common sense when driving.

1. do you think that every car should shut down if you floor it?? I don't!
2. There are times when power and flooring it can help avoid an accident!
3. why buy a truck with power unless you want to be able to use that power?
4. If you agree there is a problem then would you like to have it fixed or lets say the air conditioning doesn't work and it is 100 out..... ford says I have a fix for that and you go back 3 times for 3 different fixes and it still happens,,, are you saying ,,,, just roll down the windows and be happy??

The problem manifests itself when we need to use the power thats supposed to be available. While traveling at a steady speed not needing to accelerate or use boost the truck runs fine, until you need to merge, pass or accelerate then the water is injested. I dont think it has anything to do with using common sense or being a better driver.
