Default Ecoboost cold start knocking

I have just bought a 2014 Ecoboost and currently worried about a good sound knocking when starting it up in the morning. It goes away after being warmed up. I checked the oil and its fine. It seems to be coming from the front passenger side of the motor. Anyone aware of this problem? I am going to take it back to Ford next week to hopefully get an answer and fix. I will try to download a video for better understanding. Thx

How many miles are on it? Haven't really heard of any "knocking" complaints, but if its that bad I would definitely take it to the dealer for sure! Mine makes some funky noise's on a cold day, but all are normal.

Sounds pretty bad. I would go to the dealer asap! Sounds like a rod knock to me as well.

That is the worst one I have heard yet!

I would take that in ASAP. Good luck and let us know what they find.

I got a call today from Ford saying that they have documented the noise and the have it under investigation thru ford technical. They have pinpointed it around the timing chain area, but was told that Ford will not let them disassemble until they say so. ford dealer told me that they will contact me when they find out something. This sucks but will have to do what they say until further notice.

Do you have a case number available, Bradranger1? If so, please send it to me privately. If not, I'll get this escalated to your regional customer service manager. All I'll need to get started is a private message with your full name, VIN, servicing dealership, and best daytime contact number.
