Default Ecoboost burns oil?

Don't know if it's me or what, but every eco's exhaust tip I see is black!? My 5.0 is clean even after 6500 miles on my truck. They burn oil or somethin? Anyone else notice this on the ecoblasters???

No the ecoboost it's not notorious for burning oil or even using oil. But the 5.0 is notorious for oil disappearing Through the crankcase vent if I'm correct.

The black tip is due to the direct injection.

Neither of my EB trucks burn any oil over their 5k oil change intervals. The sooty exhaust pipe comes from the direct injection engine - seems they all have it; BMWs, VWs, Mazdaspeeds etc..... and the Ecoboost too. Characteristic of the direct injection turbo charged engines. It's nothing.

38,456 miles on 2011 ecoboost never had to add oil between oil changes.

I just went to a 10k oil change interval using Mobile One full synthetic, zero oil burned.
