Thinking about going with toyo Mt's 295/70/17's @ about 70lbs each, about 100lbs total combined heavier than my stock tires with my 3.31 gears, ecoboost. Not sure though if I should or if I should just go with 285/70/17 bfg ko2's (about 12lbs each heavier than my stock tires. 48lbs heavier total

After having 4 trucks with the 3.55 gears, I bought a 2014 set up exactly as my 2013 except for 3.31 gears. Hoped for better mileage. No dice this truck is no better then my 3.5 and is a lot worse on mileage then my 2012 Ecoboost with 3.5. All the last three were Ecoboost set up exactly the same. Would rather have the 3.55. I am a stickler for mileage and keep track of every tank on paper for all my last 5 trucks.

How much city driving do you do vs. highway? The lower gears should do better in city driving (less throttle to get the truck moving) and the higher gears should do better on the highway.

I do mostly long distance driving. Live in the country, not much stop and go here. Make a 300 mile round trip nearly every week. With my 2012 with 3.55, I would average about 20mpg, in fact averaged 19.5 lifetime for 60,000 miles.

This truck set up exactly the same, only does 18 on this trip and 17.5 lifetime mileage at 16000 miles

I'm only going to be towing around 5k travel trailer one or two times a year.
I tow a 28' travel trailer that weighs 5050 lbs dry. Pulls like a dream, even thru the mountains. Don't forget the weight distribution hitch.
