Default Eco Boost

Well I pick my truck up on Wednesday. Truck is a 2012 FX4 Super Crew 5.5' box with the eco boost. How does everyone like the motor and the truck? Anything i should watch out for? What is this shudder all about that I seeing on the forum? Has it been resolved? Seemed like it was an older post.

Don't worry about the shudder. 90% of f150s don't have it. You will love the truck and motor, and it will be solid as solid gets. You will love it!!!

Make sure to post pics of it, I always love drooling over new pickups. Enjoy that new car smell!! No used car value can beat the awesomeness of new car smell.

When you pick it up, ask if sync has been updated. If not it may act funny. Just had mine updated at the dealer 2 weeks ago.

Ahh updating sync is easy if it isn't already updated. Throw in a USB jump and it takes 5 minutes. If its a 2012 then it will have the latest software.

I meant dealer update. There hasn't been a new version of sync in a while but some systems, like mine, have had a mind of their own which resulted in me swearing at sync lol. There is a fix for it but only the dealer can do the update.

Just bought my 12 Screw EB yesterday and drove it 350 miles home....love it!!! And I'm sure I will love it for a long time. I test drove one in town and they let me tow my boat (7k lbs)... towed it better than my 06 F250 with a 6.0. I love this truck. I got 20.5 mpg on the way home with it on cruise at 70mph (had a good tail wind though). But man this thing is strong! You'll love it! Oh, and my sync is updated too.

Ya was so close to buying a used Ram 2500 Diesel. But I wasn't willing to go old enough to get the 5.9L Cummins as opposed to the newer but emissions restricted 6.7L. This will be my first new vehicle and my first ford. Decided hell with it I'm spending the extra cash and trying out a Ford. Although it did earn my money during the test drive. Still worried that I might be less of a man because my new truck doesn't have a V-8! LOL. Who doesn't love that V8 sound. Hopefully my trips to the pump are less frequent than with the 14mpg 2002 Dakota I drive now. If it does get the mileage I hope it does I will forget about the missing cylinders! For new I'm left waiting for the new car smell! BTW another Canadian from Ontario here!

Haha don't let a number of cylinders decide your manhood. I drive a V6 and I'm as manly as they come.

I have a 2011 ecoboost screw 38,456 miles no problems life time average 20.2 mpg. So your truck does not have a V8 but but when you can out run and out pull the other V8 trucks you will forget the two missing cylinders. I have a SOLO 4" single exhaust on my it sounds good not a V8 but not a ricer. More of a sporty and you can hear the turbos more check them out at SOLO PERFORMANCE they have a good sound chip.

I've had my FX4 EB Screw for about a year now and am at 17k miles. I love it. I have had the shuddering issue you mentioned but the latest flash seems to have fixed it for me. You will love the truck. Since I bought mine three of my friends have traded into new F150s (2 EB and 1 5.0). No complaints from any of them.
