Ebony Black vs. Tuxedo Black
#11
Hey all, I am new to the site although I used it for several months before picking up my 2011 last week (thanks for all the helpful info ). I bought the FX4 in tuxedo black so I thought i'd give my 2 cents. I didn't realize that the tuxedo was a metal flake paint until the day I bought it and in my opinion it is absolutely beautiful. My two color preferences were also tuxedo black and sterling grey but I'm glad I went with the black. Obviously its all personal preference so I would try and find both colors and decide for yourself. Just looking at pictures won't do the Tuxedo black justice. You have to see it (clean) in the sunlight to get the full effect. Good luck!
Edit: Sorry I got caught up in the excitement of my first post and forgot about the OP's question. I was also told the same thing about the paint shortage/Japan earthquake thing. I had to drive 225 miles away to find a Tuxedo Black FX4 w/20" rims. I'm not sure but I imagine the ebony is not a metallic but don't quote me on that

Because I was in the Navy and not the Army during the Viet Nam era, I still have a spectacular memory.
This was discussed a few months ago, soon after the quake in Japan. Here is the link to that thread; and again.

Very sad events though...
