Default EBC Stage 5 Rotors/Pads Installed

Bought my 2012 XLT Screw last year and it always had a slight brake shimmy esp at higher speeds. Now the damn thing shakes like a leaf coming down the passes so I figured it was time for an upgrade. Got ahold of the good folks at EBC and pulled the trigger on their best setup, the stage 5 dimpled and slotted rotors and matching yellow stuff pads.

FedEx dropped them off this morning and an hour after work they were on and ready for awesomeness. I must mention the pads are very high quality and have a bit more contact surface area than the stockers. Very happy I went with these over a cheaper setup and I didn't want to run cross drilled rotors in the rapidly changing Colorado climate (I occasionally drive like an asshat too).

Stupid easy install. Initial thoughts are great especially coming from some shaky stock sh*t with 68k on em. It's kind of weird driving the truck after being so used to the shimmy. Was a long day at the shop so I didn't drive much on my commute home, will update with results once they're broken in after the next week or so. They look baller as hell and the yellow behind the spokes is actually pretty cool and flows with the truck better than expected. Strongly recommend them to anyone wanting an upgrade who is running larger wheels and tires or some more power.

Looks great! Keep us posted on the effectiveness over time. Had EBC on my Jag some years back they were exceptional.
"They look baller as hell".... hmmm not sure what that really means? LOL

Love your truck man. So rad. What tires are you running? Those don't look like the mud terrains from your other posts. Do the rotors come in slotted only? Looks like a really nice setup. Looking forward to hearing about long term experiences.

Looks great! Did you do all 4 wheels or just 2?

I've got a very slight shimmy now (actually had it for a long time) on my 2010 Lariat with about 69K miles, so I'm starting to look at rotors and pads, at least for the front. I'm in Florida, so mostly flat driving, and I only tow occasionally (<4000 lbs), so I probably don't need anything extreme. Been thinking about Raybestos or the Power Stop Z36 kit, but I'll look into the EBC stuff too. Do you think it would be overkill for my use?

EBC makes some of the best pads, they are dirty, but they stop right out of the box. Would have used them if I could have afforded them. I got the Powerstop one clicks instead, and they work very good too, but took quite some time to fully bed in. Good choice on rotors too, the dimpled are better in the long run over cross drilled like the power stops, but chances of them cracking are very slim, after all they are race bred.

I had greenstuff ones and slotted/drilled rotors on my ranger, loved them. I highly recommend them.

Also looking for a price for this truck.

Thanks! I swapped wheels and tires around, issues with working at an off-road shop. I have over $1000 into the set of brakes front and rear but totally worth it now that they've broken in a bit. Not much dust but I haven't stood on them yet.

Wheels are LRG 20x9 0mm offset with pro comp at sport 295/60R20. Very happy with them.

Can't wait to rally down the passes next week and try the new brakes out.
