I have debated this issue, theres no doubt a grill looks better, but the engineering behind the IC and restricted air flow is keeping me from filling the hole in. These engines are so sensitive to so many variables that I am gonna leave open. I am concerned more about rocks than bugs..Take a look at your radiator, you cant stop the bugs but it has no effect on working. I don't want have to worry about taking my truck in for service to have dealer blame the grill for any issues that could arise. I will see how things go, may not even truck as long as last one if it starts breaking down..

I can't believe Ford doesn't make these standard.

funny thing about ours
wife and i were sitting on the porch
truck was staring at us....wife said that big open spot is just asking for a bird or rock
we have lots of critter encounters as well as freaking rocks off oil field trucks
so i searched real quick at amazon
shaaaazaaaaam
a few days later it was here.
I doubt any disruption to airflow is so minimual it does not matter
I also took the time to trim off the ic flap cover thing
left the top piece to protect the top of the ic but cut off the two flaps

I'm sorry, but 100 is excessive for the boost bars. It's a shame too, cuz they look great.

Maybe people here just don't care, but from where I'm at (Alberta, Canada), I've yet to see someone try to protect their IC intake and mind you, the winters here are harsh, as well as the road conditions and debris.

A lot of people do it because they don't like the looks of that big ugly hole in the bumper.

I went to pacific steel and got me a diamond holed piece of metal and cut i Tto fit painted ot black and there is two bolt screws down there already that I used to hold it tight and it works and looks great. My bosses has 100,000 miles on his and yes it looks like **** and I'm shur isn't working to its fullest.
