Default VCT Phaser / Truck a dealer

I took my took to the dealer because my injecters were making a loud ticking sound. They called and said they had to order a "Phaser" and it has something to do with timing. I know the injecters make a slight tick sound but mine got very loud.. I hope this fixes the problem. Im stuck driving my old flat-bed with no AC in South Ga. until she gets back

My 2010 4.6 3V has 30k miles on it.

Bad cam phaser. It appears to happen frequently on the 5.4L/4.6L Ford engines all the way back to 2004-2005. At least your dealer seems to be one of the good ones and is replacing it, Ford's SOP used to be tell the customer "that was just how the engine sounded/acted" and let it lapse out of warranty. This link shows how old the issue is, the TSB is from 04-05.
