DTE calculation - towing history mystery
'11 Lariat 4x4 SCREW w/EcoBoost.
My Distance To Empty display has two calculation options, normal history and towing history.
I do tow a travel trailer FWIW. When I set the DTE calculation to 'towing history', my DTE is HIGHER than 'normal'. I would think this would be just the opposite. I mean I get 9 MPG while towing so how can I have more distance according to the computer?
What does the DTE calculate this on and is there a way to reset it?

It learns with more miles. But mine is screwy. If I put it on towing history and drive a long trip rhe normal history gets screwed up and acts like towing. The same thing happens to when on normal history that towing history is corrupted.
IGNORE IT! Use the trip meter to monitor fuel used and compare it to your tank size, or you may run dry like I did towing, though I also had a stuck fuel gauge needle.
