Dropped my 2014 Supercrew
A few of you may have seen my "imporant info about 2014s" thread about how the lower control arms and lower strut mounts on the front are different but I got it done (thanks to my girlfriend's 2013 STX ) !
I did my drop with a 3/5 drop kit from DJM, front lower control arms and a rear "flip kit". My friend and I run a business modifiying all sorts of vehicles so this was not our first encounter with DJM or this kit in general (kit looks almost identical to their 05 and 09 kits, and this one was still branded as a 2010 kit).
We did the back first because that is the one that always takes more time in our experience. It went fine in general-word to the wise though: the silver nuts come in two different thread pitches and you can NOT tell from the outside to make sure you match them up with the right bolts We reused my shocks because we are going to measure the proper strut length and get a custom QA1 shock or similar down the road.
After the back we attempted the front but of course ran into issues with the lower control arms and shocks as I went into in my other thread ( for those that are interested: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/import...240239/index2/ ). Once we had decided to swap my girlfriends front struts from her 2013 to my 2014 everything went pretty smooth, no major issues at all It does max out the toe adjustment in the front end but we got it aligned well within specs-probably better than stock!
Issues: The thread pitch thing I'd mentioned before, the fact that 2014 stuff doesn't play well with stuff designed for the 2013s in the front end, and the fact that the truck sits MAYBE a 3/8ths on an inch lower in the back than the front. I'm now torn between going with a helper bag setup (truck will rarely, if ever, tow or haul) or just a set of lift shackles if I can find them (2.5 inches would be perfect).
The reason everyone came into this thread: PICS!!!! Will post from my phone momentarily.

Looking good, Hawaiikid! I really dig those stx 20" wheels too. I am keeping my fingers crossed that some of those begin popping up in the FS forum as more 2014s are being sold!

Digging the drop, I'm still not opposed to dropping my 4x4, lol.

Looks really nice. I'd lower my truck a little , but Nebraska winters can be tough on lowered vehicles.

Looking good! Does the handling feel any better? Less body roll?
I'm also guessing that the SCREW in STX trim is new for 2014...
