Had drop in, currently have spray on. Drop in was slick, scratched the truck bed underneath and the bed was still dented from heavy objects even though the liner didn't show any damage, particularly the fender wells. I chose pray because it won't move on the bed. I think they are probably about equal.

I went the drop-in route. I like to be able to slide things in/out of the bed when needed and not ding the hell out of the bed when I throw something heavy in it. Bed is closed off from the rest of the world with my Bakflip VP.

I have a rubber bed mat in mine, it works great for me except my bed has a pretty good dent in it under the mat where it holds water. As soon as I get the money for it I'll get it rhino lined to keep my bed from eventually rusting out.

just watch the video on DualLiner.com. alot of people on here say they still have to put a bed mat over their Line X and the heavy mat that comes with the Dualliner weighs like 65-70 lbs. won't flap and has non skid surface and alot thicker than a regular bed mat. the sides do not move around and lock together. if you want a drop in the Line-X dealers will probably give you one or sell for less than $50 where i live in Memphis area.

Between rhino and line-x, which is better? I have a dealer for both within a half hour drive of me. I haven't priced either yet, but would like an idea on who is better.

drop in for sure for the length of time you are keeping the vehicle - go LineX

Man... you guys must have:
1- gotten a cheap drop-in
2- poor job of installation
3- the wrong liner altogether.
(BTW, #2 is the most likely)

The drop-in I had in a Ranger for over 10 years never gave me a lick of problems. The spray-in I had in the next Ranger got scraped, then rust started... in pretty short-order; and allowed dents in the bed (but I still liked how it looked ).

But fully expecting to use my truck as a truck, I opted for the drop-in in the F150. 6 months now and absolutely -0- issues. I did get a BedRug for traveling so we can sleep in the bed when necessary.

Buy the best and cry only once, I always say...

Enjoy what works for you

Lets see, My drop in under the rail is a FORD drop in therefore #'s 1 2 & 3 do not apply in my instance. The drop in develops heat buildup in the area between the bed and the bottom of the drop in. This causes condensation to occur. Because the drop in is not attached to the bed it therefore will have a minute amount of movement. There is no way that the bottom of the drop in and the bed were completely free of all grit or roughness therefore abrasion occurs as well. Heat+Moisture+Abrasion = Corsion (Rust)

My drop in has been in the truck for 20 year being removed twice to clean under it and to spray WD40 or silicone spray on the bed to help prevent some corosion.
