The dealer lubed the slip yoke on mine back late last year. Now they are going to replace the driveshaft since they have found some burrs on it. I'm hoping this will be the last time for this, but not going to hold my breath.

Dealer got my new drive shaft (two piece) and carrier bearing on. No clunk, bump, slip for now. Hope it lasts and don't have to have the slip yoke re-lubed again. The first re-lube lasted about 10K miles.

I have an 07 it use to clunk half throttle and when it shifted gears pretty bad. Then I bought a tuner after installing any of the 3 tunes this has stopped, I forget about it but when I go back to stock tune I'm reminded about it, the clunk is back. So as long as I keep a custom tune loaded all is good. (honestly its the most noticeable difference I've seen/ heard with tuner)

My '11 EB does this as well. It also does it when I let off and brake, especially if I have to brake hard.

Mine clunks only when the transmission shifts from 3rd to 1st. Is this the driveline or something else? I took it to the dealer twice and they said there's nothing wrong with the truck.

Why do the regular cab trucks have a 2 piece drive shaft? I had the clunk issue and decided to re lube the slip yoke myself since I didn't want to "get in trouble" from the dealer over my Boss intake. I don't have the clunk anymore, but I just think a single piece aluminum drive shaft would resolve all issues and I wouldn't have to worry about a bad carrier bearing in 5 years.

Quick Reply: Driveshaft clunk? There's a fix for that.
