Default Driver's seat is painfully uncomfortable...

Bought my truck back in June. At that time I felt the seat was very comfortable. However, riding it day after day has my left leg sore. I've tried almost every setting with the electric adjustments with no relief.

The seat appears to mount on dense plastic or steal bars under the foam. While sitting in the seat it feals like my left side it riding right on this bar. I'm 250lbs and 6 foot. Big guy, but not huge in my opinion. It probably doesn't help that it's the left side and that foam gets a little more work when I get in and out of the truck.

Has anyone else experienced this? Or has anyone took these seats apart? If I reach under the right side of the foam I can feel the bar. I'm curious if I could load some dense material on top of this bar to ease the pain. Or put some more foam in the left side of the seat. Not sure what to do at this point.

The last thing I thought about was not liking the seat or having trouble in it. I have own 10 vehicles and have never has an issue like this. There just isn't a lot of foam between the driver and the bar IMO.

Any advice is helpful. Thanks.

It's my right leg that gets kinda numb during long distance driving only with this particular truck. All other cars, including an 01 and 04 F150 I've never experienced this ergonomic issue before.

Well, I am just the opposite in my experience.

I am 250+ lbs. and 6'-4+ and my experience is that the seats are very comfortable even on long trips down to L.A. This is the most comfortable seat I have had in any vehicle and one of the reasons I really love my truck.

I have the XLT with the cloth 40/20/40 seats with elec. adj.

Default Me too.

I have a hard time getting my left side comfortable in my truck at times too. However, I thought it was just me because I have some nerve issues with my left leg that is agitated by many seats, not just the ones in my F150. I have an XLT with the 40/20/40 cloth seats.

I'm 6' tall and 280 lbs and I've found that taking my wallet out of my back pocket helps. The seat in my '10 XLT Screw is a lot more comfortable than the one in my '04 F150.

I think it would be difficult to build a seat that fits everyone's comfort level.

Take it to a good custom seat etc. shop and have them re-stuff your seat with better and firmer foam. Quality of the foam in many cars lately seems not to hold its density.

I think the deal is that the 10 way seat sits up higher in the Lariats than the XLTs. If the entire seat was lowered relative to the floor and armrests, more weight would be distributed to the driver elbows and the legs would be in more of a "fetal" position taking pressure off of the backside of the legs.

The bar hasn't been an issue with me.

Like ShortRide I too found that removing my wallet makes for a comfortable ride. I guess it's because I now have my father's wallet, over filled with "stuff". My problem is that my wife is almost a foot shorter than me. If she drives I spend a lot of time getting back to the comfort zone.

One of the few comfort issues I have with the f150 is the abscence of a left foot rest. One possible remedy is to vary the seat height.
