Default Driver Side Mirror Turn Signal Replacement

The Turn Signal on my 2009 F150 needs to be replaced. I have ordered the new part but I don't know how to replace it. How do I get in a replace the part? Do I remove the mirror and remove the 6mm bolts?

If you remove the mirror glass, you will see a few torx screws to take the mirror housing apart. Once you get those out, it's very easy to replace the turn signal.

Do a search on mirror glass removal, it's very easy but be careful. The driver side is very expensive to replace if it is the electro chromatic glass.

Where did you find the replacement? My mirror got hit and the LED is the only thing that broke. It just bounces around now and I want to order just the replacement LED.

Any idea where I can find the mirror LED replacement? (Not the whole mirror, just the amber turn signal.) My 2011 did not come with mirror turn signals so I'd like to add them. Can't find the part number anywhere. Also, any idea if the signal wires are in the power mirror harness for me to tap into? Thanks for any info!

PS...I'm not referring to the front turn signal mod, only the rear facing turn signal.

For what it's worth, I just bought a set of mirrors with heat/turn signals from a member here and plugged them in -- great upgrade. Of course that cost $150 and then I spent $112 on the climate controls to make the heat work. Probably more than the LED... but when they were frost-covered earlier in the week it sure was nice!

Did your old mirrors already have the turn signals in them?

Nope. All the wiring was there though (mine is an STX).

Cool so all the wire (I think it's black and green) was already there. That's great since I've heard it might not be. Was it just plug and play or did you need to splice into the harness?

you need the part from tascaparts.com.

watch the first part of this video to get the glass off.

to get the blinker out, you need to push the clip from the inside. pull the connectors off of the blinker on the backside and plug them into your new blinker.

hope this helps, buddy
