I did read the thread but missed any warranty reference. Although, I assumed that since he was talking about money he was indeed out of warranty. And 103k doesn't mean he has “no” warranty. It means he has no manufacturer’s warranty. Extended warranties can be purchased and some people do buy them.

Yep, I see that now. I was enamored with the pic of the differential and must have missed it. I don’t think I could handle having an expense like this little surprise. That would be a huge setback for me.
