Yup, you also don't see snow and salt like here either. Usually happens after driving in snow/salt.

I still don't know why some of these trucks have steel driveshafts and some have aluminum. I think it must be a wheel base thing, the steel two piece must come on the longer trucks? Mines aluminum.

Not entirely sure how or when the shaft metal changes. I have a supercab with 6.5 box but 2WD. Perhaps that's the difference?

I pressure wash all the time but do not do it the day I drive it in the snow. This is like 2 days after it will stain the drive. Then I pressure wash the entire underside of the truck, along with the rust stain in the driveway. Also when its single digit temps for multiple days its impossible to do right away when everything is frozen.

Also mines a supercab 4X4 and I have a once piece steel drive shaft.

You're making a mountain out of a mole hill. That's the last comment I'll make in this thread. Good luck with your concerns (OCD) I'm the same way with my truck sort of.

Upset? wtf man? The only thing that upsets me is, ... umm nothing really. Get a grip. Just trying to alleviate your concerns.

What's happening to your truck is what's happening to EVERYONES truck.

Some time with some scotch bright pads and a can of spray paint will make it all pretty again and not cause any issues with balancing.
