Dreaded Wrench Light
Have seen several of postings about the "Wrench", but none have my exact symptoms. So I am trying a new post. I have a 2010 F150 with 5.4 and 6R80. It runs and shifts like a champ and has 200K miles (just broke in).
My Wrench comes on in the morning when the car is cold, and started happening now that the weather has gotten colder. Wrench comes on after I drive for about 5 minutes, and stays on for the first leg of my trip. Then will not re-appear the rest of the day. It does not set any codes that I can pull, and the truck still runs and shifts fine, even with the wrench on. Another issue that cropped up about the same time is an occasional no start after a brief shut down. Maybe the two issues are related??
Other possibly relevant detail:
1) Changed tranny fluid and filter a couple weeks ago. Also put in a new bulkhead connector at that time. Used Motorcraft parts and LV Fluid.
2) No Start means not turning over
3) When it did does not start, I've tried wiggling the key, and moving shift lever around and starting it in Neutral---no help. Just wait a couple minutes and it will start right up.
4) Security Light is normal
5) Put in a new Starter yesterday. Battery is healthy---when it does turn over, it sounds very strong.
6) As the Wrench Light turns on, I can feel a little bump like the engine shuts off for a split-second. After that little bump, it runs and shifts fine, just like before
7) No codes, and I even checked it with the engine running and the Wrench Light On. Used my OTC 9450 Reader.
Can't think of anything else. Sorry for writing a "novel" here, but was trying to anticipate some questions. If you have any ideas on what this could be and where I should look, I'd sure like to hear from you. Thanks

As I understand it, if you have a wrench, you have a code. Pull the code and look it up on Google. That should tell you where to begin. Any tuner will pull the code(s) for you. Or, usually there is a sequence of pedal pushing/ignition key turning that will also pull the codes. Check your owner's manual (or the 'net')
