Dorman #600 405 iwe delete vs. RCV eliminators
I have read about the RCV Performance IWE eliminators but interested in Dorman take on it. The Dorman is half the price and has a place to grease the splines and cap off the vacuum lines. Would like to hear from people have used an iwe eliminator. How long have you had it, any extra vibrations and how much your mpg went down. Right now kind of leaning toward the Dorman. Really not concerned with the mpg loss, just wondering, want to be one and done when I replace the factory IWEs.

Nobody wants to eliminate their Shift On The Fly option.. not sure why you want to.. but, to each his own.. dorman parts are inferior to RCV would be my guess on the price difference.

The IWE eliminator doesn't hurt SOTF. If anything it facilitates it, because the front shaft will already be turning.

So.. it don’t hurt nothing with the front shaft turning full time and the cv shafts ?

Kinda deflecting away from the SOTF question aren't you?? Nice try. You said it negates the ability to shift on the go, and that is incorrect. As to drivetrain wear, maybe it's a small consideration but I can't get too worked up about it considering all the front wheel drive cars on the road. It's not as if it's being driven in 4x4.

Part of the SOTF system is an unlocked front end when you are not using 4WD.. but, your right, you still have the option for 4WD on the fly, just not the option of better gas mileage and unnecessary wear and tear on the front end drive components. Front wheel drive and AWD vehicles were designed to run that way.. our SOTF system was not.

How's she goin' eh?
Previous ford trucks had a live axle, I see no difference why this generation is different. I’ve been driving with my IWE disconnected for a year and a half now. I’ve thought about getting the delete kit and making it official, just haven’t.
When i I read up on it, forums like this one and the raptor ones were saying the gears are using the backside but people weren’t having any long term problems.

I’m not even talking that old. My 85 bronco had those, my 08 ranger had SOTF but was a live axle
