Default Door panel removal issue

I recently purchased a 2014 XLT screw and was in the process of upgrading to the kicker complete system. After I installed the door speakers and attempted to reinstall the door panels everything went fine until tightening the bolt behind the door handle. 3 out of 4 doors the clip that the bolt screws into dislodged and when I try to screw the bolt in it continues to spin and will not tighten. I attached a couple pictures, any advice is appreciated.

Unfortunately you will have to remove the door panel again. That silver clip slides into a square and gets positioned over a small circular hole in the door panel. The hole in the metal door panel lines up with the handle.
Bend the retaining piece of that clip slightly so it does not fall out again. They are a PIA.

Make sure the "nipple" piece faces OUT as in out of the truck.

I just ran into this same problem tonight while installing my speakers. Luckily I heard the clip fall and it stuck to the back of the speaker magnet. I was not able to get the damn clip to stay in the hole so I used a small piece of tape to hold in place long enough to get the bolt started. All in all the kicker upgrade was well worth the price and the small headaches getting it installed.

Yea my rear doors fortunately stuck to the speaker when they fell out but my driver door fell somewhere in the door. I'm hoping I can find it today I ran out of daylight yesterday. If not hopefully I can buy clips somewhere.

You guys should be able to find the fallen clips. To prevent them from falling out of the hole- bend the little "u" shaped piece in towards the hole. It will put more tension on the metal door and hold on.

You weren't kdding about these u-clips being a PIA, I got the rear doors in but ended up using tape because I couldn't bend that u piece. Off to the dealer to see if I can get a new clip for the driver door that i can't find. The funny thing is all the guides/videos I read and watched before doing this didn't mention anything about the clips and I feel like they are the hardest part. Thanks again for the help.

My clips didn't move at all on all 4 doors. What are you doing wrong... Joking haha. In fact you just reminded me that I need to go anti rattle my passenger door.
