Default How to make my 2011 f150 have more payload capacity?

I have a screw 11 f150 lariat 5.0
I never had a real truck before this one so no idea what I'd need and didn't need. Well it seems I would really like to have the ability to carry more weight in the bed of the truck without risking damage to the truck. Id like to stuff it full of oak firewood and that crap is heavy. Seems I didn't opt for the max payload package or whatever? Well is there anyway to put it on my truck or is it something that needed to be put on from the factory? If its too much trouble I might just look into a nice trailer.

Is that the only difference between the Max payload and my truck?

Would this help payload? I really don't tow much. Most might be 5000 lbs of wood in a trailer.

There are several differences including tranny cooler, better radiator, higher capacity front and rear springs, and 17" 7 lug high capacity wheels. Most people just add one the heavier rear spring kit options or air bags to make up most of the difference. I'm hoping to order a new truck soon which will likely have the HD package, but if I were in your shoes I would opt for a spring kit.

How do you increase payload capacity on a 150? You get a 250.

1st there is nothing you can do to change the GVW or AXLE weight RATING of your truck. It was given that at birth you can add springs.air bags, heavyer tires and probably get away with it but forget about warrenty for affected parts also your assumming liabilty for damage or injury to others if you should have a accident and it can be shown you were overloaded. Best bet buy a nice trailer and you dont messup your box and you can unload at your conveniance not because you need to use the truck for something else. bubbabud
