Thanks, I didn't realize that was a "thing". It hadn't done it most all summer and now twice in about 10 days. First time on a cool morning, and again yesterday afternoon in the upper 70's after driving an hour. No pattern to it .

Sounds like a latch issue or something bound in the door.

It may well be. When it throws it's fit the inside handle is a bit hard to pull, and then it lets go and the button pops up.

I am experiencing latch failure on the driver's door and on the right rear door. Same as described here: electric function is failing intermittently (by key or door buttons), rod works, manual key function works. I had hail repair a month or two before this started. 66K miles on the truck. I am wondering if the failure is due to the body shop disconnecting and reconnecting the latches to access the inside of the door.
