Default Door Hinge Catch Point?

In all my past cars/trucks the front doors would have a catch in the hinge half way open. On my FX4, it does not seem to be there. Is this normal on the F150?

My 2010 SCREW Doors opens 1/2 way and then it "springs" open. I am afraid it is going to spring open into a lamp pole, street sign or another car door in a parking lot .

Can this be modified so it won't do this? It's worrisome when passangers "fling it open"

yeah mine swung open into a gas pump the other day or rather, I opened it a little and held it there, and when I let go, it swung out to the pump... luckily it only hit plastic and didn't leave a mark on the door at all...

but yeah I've noticed too, and I thought it was kinda strange myself...

I have had the same experience as you guys a few times. I think the door is set and then it is wide open, kinda has a nice bounce to it when it doesn't actually hit something.

Seriously, it is one thing to damage my own truck but I really do not want to damage someones car.

Wonder if there is anything that can be done,.

This has got to be my only complaint about this truck so far. I have kids, and am constantly worrying they are going to swing a door open and ding someone's car.

I also take customers out often, and have to warn them also.

A center detent is badly needed.

My 2010 SCREW front doors have the same two step detents that I've been used to with other vehicles. A solid stop halfway and then full open. Is this different that what others have?

This drives me nuts too! I had the door slip on me one day and it put a nice blue flame paint smudge and dent into my car's door.
