Your keys are in your pocket and the damn panic alarm goes off.

Of course as you fumble the last button you push turns it off.

Who here has used the panic button as intended honestly.

Never. But hitting it accidentally happens all the damned time.

I hit mine weekly I think. Unintentionally of course. Someday I'll be running from muggers and be like "omg thank god I've got this alarm". Then they can mug me while the alarm goes off. Lol.

Large parking lots are an ideal location for using it, helps find the vehicle in a sea of vehicles. Follow the sound.

Good point I'll try and remember that.

The first vehicle I owned with a fob that had a panic button was my 2001 Mustang. Another thing I learned was it had a 2,376,914 nautical mile range to trip it, but you had to be four inches away to disarm it. Found out the hard way when my buddy suggested using it to locate the car in a huge parking lot. Triggered fine, but we had to be right up to the car to silence it. I had to chug my fat butt across a parking lot on a hot summer day, then get a lecture from the old lady from the Titanic movie (I swear it was her) on how rude it is to startle seniors.

So yeah. I popped the case open and super glued the button solid on both fobs.

I haven't watched the Titanic movie since.

it only happened to me once in 2+ years with this truck.
Of course, it has to be in front of the house, at 2am a Saturday night, as we just flew back to town, my brain is half-dead by then, and the goddamn MF'ing truck just keeps beeping even when I press each button one after the other on the remote.
Had to walk to the truck, start it to stop the alarm... took a good 20-30 seconds, I almost felt bad for the neighbors...

I hear holding it up near your chin helps your body act as an antenna to give you better range with it.

This is true. To decrease the range, let your 14 month old niece hold it in the toilet for twenty minutes.

Hit mine today. Got out of the truck at Costco and some how hit the panic instead of lock. Of course it wouldn't turn right off and a bunch of people were looking at me like I was an idiot. Doh!!
