I don't necessarily think that the government is regulating HID's strictly on a danger basis.

I've researched the subject and there was an outcry when vehicles were converted from sealed beam to halogen. People though halogens were too bright and blinding.

OK, First!, If you cant see the diffrence between an emergency vehicle and a luxury car with dealership HIDS then you my friend are blind and its not the lights fault!, @thebiggarniedog, havnt it ever crossed your mind that maybe I dont like the way the projector headlights look, And those people that put lexus projectors on their healidhgts and "make the housing conversion" just make the truck look like if it had two freking alien eyes on the front!, those look better than the projector headlights they sell, but its still not my taste, and dont even start witht he OH SO YOU PREFER TO LOOK "COOL" AND TO CAUSE ACCIDENTS, you go now and do some research and tell me how many accidents have happened because of HIDS, and then go do the same research and tell me how many accidents have happened because of some idiot thats running high beams because his stock lights arnt bright for **** but in his full of crap mind HIDS are worse. youd be amazed. but in the end you keep your stock bulbs and let us keep blinding you on the road .

All cops (around here at least) only have blue flashing lights and strobes on the front. When you are driving down the highway and these luxury vehicles are hitting bumps at first glance they do flash. Most have 5000-8000k HIDs (blue-er). I am 23 and promise that I do not have any vision problems. No contacts, no glasses. Never had any problems with vision. I am not blind. Can you write me a prescription, since you now have the authority to diagnose peoples visual acuity over the internet???

I actually had a conversation with a state trooper at my gym the other day about this subject. I am not the only one who has ever noticed a flash from the auto leveling of a stock projector. Do I need to waste the time/bandwidth to post a video???

Anyway, if someone were to go find a statistic about wrecks caused by HIDs in stock housings, the results would most likely be even more disappointing than the recent Tampa news article about street racing . Its such a big problem and leads to so many deaths (less than 0.3% of all auto deaths) that they even ban threads on it on this site. These are the same ones who probably text or discipline their kids while driving.

Haha
most stock HIDs are 5,600K...
all HIDs are bright. If you don't like em, don't stare at them

Well to those of you who don't like em don't get em. To those who have em, mine have been in 2 years moved from a 2010 supercrew t the new 11 Screw. when I got em I knew they would be bright, so I lowered the beams by looking at cars in front of me making sure I wasn't blinding from behind. I have never been high been flashed for my headlight's being to bright. On the other hand I have flashed other non hid cars for their lights being blinding to me.

If you buy HID lights get someone to drive at you and tell you what they think and adjust accordingly. Enjoy the HID's I love mine

What crossed my mind was that you spent around $40(k) for a truck and are/were too cheap and inconsiderate to properly install HID lighting into a proper projector housing. Please, don't even try to explain it as "I don't like how projectors look" --- that is just BS.

Reflectors scatter HID lighting. You cannot focus them with reflectors. The glare/scattering effect is significant to other vehicles on the roadway. I have seen plenty of people who do it anyway. I just assumed it's part of the "me" only society.

Like any other upgrade, if you are not going to do it correctly then why bother .........

Because properly aimed, they do not distract other drivers unless they are dumbasses and look directly into headlights. Like I said, I tried to go projector, but light output sucked compared to stock
