I've had my fibermax installed for about a week. We don't get much rain here, but there was actually a steady downpour on Saturday for over an hour then rained on and off all day. I was expecting some water in the bed when i checked it after work. No leaks for me, just a few drops on the bottom in a couple of the seams. The bedrug I have was completely dry. Sorry to hear yours is leaking, I would assume something is wrong if that much water is getting in the bed.
As far as the shims go, mine said they were pre installed into the rails. Not sure if you actually had separate shims or not. Maybe they recently changed the design?

Mine leaked.....ordered a Peragon. wow, nice product BUT (yep this is a big but). It leaks like the titanic. Its installed correctly, its square, leaks horribly.

I went back and rechecked everything but no luck, it just leaks.

At freeway speeds you can look in the rearview and see the panels raise up and down as wind pushes on them.I think this is bc they are all independent panels.

its a shame.

My flex has been great, did a review on it a while back until the bak guy started calling me out saying I worked for them. Lol. Funny sharper4 mentions him in his post, you could tell what the guy is like if you read that thread.

Wish I could help more and hope that you can get the issue fixed up with Bak.

Maybe it has to do with which Bakflip cover you have. Based on my time in here it seems that everyone who has the same model as me, the HD, seems to say they work great. Maybe there are subtle design differences / product differences in the G2, HD, F1 that cause them to work differently.

I remember reading all of that. So your undercover flex is working out? I can handle drips, but not what I have with the flex. I wonder if I should ask the truck shop to swap it out on another - might get lucky!

If not, then I think I might try the BakFlip....if that doesn't work....who knows. I'd like to avoid the one piece tonneau.

Try calling them direct and see what they say, its worth a shot. I still have no issues with mine.

Ive been talking to the truck shop. I think they think I'm nuts, but have gone the extra mile in attempting to solve the issue.

I was leaning towards the undercover lux as a replacement for the flex but I use the full bed a lot. I'd rather not have to crawl under the cover to access the front of the bed.

I thought the Bakflip would be up to this task. I made this thread to see if my experience was common.

Thanks for everyone's input so far. I think I am going to wait until it rains on it again in the next week or so, then see how it does, and decide to contact Bak.
I've used my trucks for long road trip vacations too. I don't have the same cover but the previous one I had did leak...and current one leaks a little. Our family learned to put each suitcase luggage in a large 33gal trash bag to keep dry. I know it's not the best solution as I would rather just have the bed dry but boy, wet clothes and such on vacation does suck.

I have my Truxedo LoPro on for maybe 3-4 weeks or so, and my bed is as dry as it gets, not a drop, except some on the inside of the tail gate (and that water does not reach the bed floor). And I live in the pacific NW, if you know what I mean, in terms of rain. It has been very wet here since I put the cover on. Maybe I am just lucky.
