Does Lifting your Truck give you a bumpy ride?
Shopping for a f150 and I've been looking at some that are lifted. I drive to work on the high way everyday for 45 min each way at 80mph+. Are lifted trucks bumpy? or does it all depend on what kind of lift you get?

Cant speak for an actual lift. In my case, I only leveled (should have no effect on ride) but the Trail Grapplers are noticeably rougher as they are a heavy 10 ply tire. On the interstate, the imperfections in the roads in WV are pretty rough. I am OK with it, not complaining, but my truck has developed some new rattles since adding them.

Mine rides 100x better now that it's lifted compared to when it was leveled. I've done 75-80 for 500 on I-10 from Mississippi to Texas on leave no problems.

The quality of the parts you use will make a difference. Better Shocks with proper alignment might/should make your truck ride at least or better than stock at a mild lift...1.5-2.5". A good rule of thumb in regards to stability is for every 1" of lift add 2" of track width (to keep things about the same). Of course tire construction will also be a huge factor in ride and characteristics. Also weight transfer when taking out factory rake will put more work on the front end as it pertains to turning/braking/ect.
The setup I have (look at sig) has made for a much better riding truck...and better looking IMO. Yes, lifting and heavier tires will hurt mpg...no doubt.

i lifted every 4wd i have had since my 72 Chevy with frnt leaf springs. it rode and handled better with a 4' Rancho but still was rough. my 97 Z71 was only truck i never did any suspension work, pos would get stuck in wet grass with 3.73 LSD. all my other trucks actually rode better with more articulation of the lift, the tires were the biggest deciding factor. this was before all the larger rims. on my Tacoma with a leveling kit with stiffer front springs and aal which rode rougher but not bad. for your use i would use a front spacer and taller block in the rear or Rancho quick lifts in front. leveling kit is a good compromise for the way you intend to use it.
