Does having an XLT make me look like an old man?

That's interesting. Initially, I was going to get a 2014 STX regular cab. It was black with 20" wheels. Very nice looking truck but the problem is that you can't get power door locks up here in the STX. It's basically, the XL door panel on the STX.
So, my dealer said that I could get an XLT for the exact same price, so that's why I'm getting the XLT. I didn't want a truck without power door locks. The windows on the STX are a hand crank which I could have lived with.

To me crome on a truck looks pretty dated and I'm in my mid 50's. When I bought my truck I had a choice between a 2014 STX or 2013 XLT for the exact same money and went with the STX. Now I have to take the stupid looking running boards off, those really make the truck look like it's for an old man.

Hi guys,
Just wondering if having an XLT with the chrome package makes people think I'm an old man. I guess my thinking is that the FX4 looks more like a young man's truck. While a lariat or higher trim definitely looks like an old man truck. I'm only 35 for the record. Some of this is probably this sites fault. I've been looking at new trucks and am favoring an FX4 over an XLT just because I want all of the nice stuff plus the looks of an FX4 although I want cloth seats and no moon roof or navigation.

I don't think the XLT is an old man's truck, more of a working man's truck. It has a very clean and honest presence. I like the look of the XLT's.
For the record I am 24 and on my 2nd XLT. My 2013 has the chrome package (XTR package here in Canada) and I love the look of it.

I could really give a **** less what people think of me. I was wanting you guys to tell me your age and truck trim more which is exactly what I got. If I buy a new one it will probably be another XLT because the FX4 with cloth almost doesn't exist. They seem to be UBER rare.

How bad are the payment increases after trading in a 13XLT for a 14FX4? I have thought about doing it. I wish I had the console shifter not the column, had the leather heated/cooled seats, and MFT. But at the time I didn't want to spend that much. 36 years old here. Some days I like the XLT chrome package I have some days I wish I got the FX4 I test drove.

I used to have a 2 tone lariat and that thing was definitely more "Grandpa" than my XLT w/ Chrome. The guy who bought my Lariat actually was a Grandpa LOL. I don't think it's all that much chrome anyway.

, I have a two tone Lariat that I love and doesn't look "grandpa" to me, however I have seen many like it that did. I think color is a big factor in this, at least IMO. Chrome never bothered me either, although the front grill on the Lariat is a bit too much

No!!! Im only 23, I would have liked an Fx4 but didn't really want to spend even more money. Besides, I got everything and then some with my xlt but I also got the XTR with lux package and appearance package.
