I am having the same issues as you are. My issues with SYNC even go as far as when I am driving down the road I cant here anyone. I have to pull over on the side of the road/highway just so I can hear the person I am on the call with.
I called the Dealership that I bought the truck from and I asked if I have to upgrade my speakers to stop all of the background noise or to be able to hear the other person and they told me that my SYNC system shouldn't be making that much extra noise and that I would have to bring the truck in for them to look at.
Its funny when I drive down the road/highway I will have the volume control cranked as loud as it goes and the person on the other always asks me to turn the radio down because of the echo.

Do you by chance have the new A-4 sd card and the update that goes with it. I had the same type problem and after they sent card and I downloaded the update, that fixed it. If you havent, all the info is on the Ford Website.

I went to the 4A card and upgraded SYNC system.
Just so you know when I did the upgrade I lost all my addresses I had in my address book!!!!

Everyone who does this update will lose their info, you just have to pair your phone again, or whatever bluetooth devise you use and it will tell how to download your phonebook as well.
