Default Do-it-yourself liner

Anybody have done the do it yourself bed liners you can buy? I've seen them sold on Autoanything and other sites. Seems inexpensive and not too challenging....but is the product good??

Did the removable panel on the tailgate to test it out. Duplicolor - it is NOT the same as linex, just doen't stick as well. Had no problems with the armorthane from dealer on my 09. The do it your self just isn't the same. Spend the money get it done right.

I had a neighbor put on some do-it-yourself bedliner and it sucked...it is totally chipping and flaking off.

I used Herculiner, followed the directions and didnt short change the prep work. I love the out come. It was a lot of work to do it right but turned out great and have no complaints. Im thinking about putting on another coat just to thicken it up.

I used Herculiner too. Mine is holding up fine. I was loading wood in the bed and threw a piece in that dented the wheel well but didn't do any damage to the liner. I think it's all in the prep work. I would have gone with Linex but the prices by me are outrageous

I put Gator Guard II in the bed of my '65 F100 about 12 years ago. It has held up very well for a do-it-yourself job.

I used the Monstaliner last summer and it has held up great so far. Like mentioned its all in the prep work. I had to wash the bed, sand all the clear coat off, wipe down with MEK 2 times, tape and plastic off the sides of the bed, window, tail lights, and bumper. I did the first coat on friday night after work, and then did the 2nd coat the next morning. It was dry enough to climb in the bed for the 2nd coat so I didn't have to reach from out side the bed. I ended up with a few runs in the side of the bed from trying to use up the remaining product, but that was my fault not the product.

I had a few drops run through the gap at the front wall of the bed and land on the driveway. It is still there and stuck to the concrete. I also got a drop on my license plate, when i tried to pull it off after it dried it pulled the paint off the license plate. These two "issues" tell me that the stuff will last for a long time.

And all for less then what a factory drop in liner would cost.

Don't be cheap. You get what you pay for.

pay to have it professionally done. or not.

Thanks
