Do Yourself a favor and Check This Out!
Hey guys you probably saw my post last night of the thumping noise that many of you thought was the IWE. Well turns out it wasn't.
The bracket that holds the carrier bearing snapped off and totally destroyed my drive shaft. I was only 950 miles away from being out of the 60k warranty and had it not been covered it would have been a $1000 repair.
So do yourselves a favor and check the welds on that bracket. Don't want to see this happen to anyone out of warranty.

What are you calling a carrier bearing? (to someone who rebuilds differentials, a carrier bearing is one of the two bearings that allow the differential ["carrier"] to spin in the diff housing - and it does not have a "bracket")
So, as mentioned,
...at least a very descriptive explanation of the component you're talking about.

Center support bearing....
I did a part search and couldn't find 1 other than buying a new driveshaft!
Take a peak under when you get it back, see if you got a new shaft ....
Or if they gave you the shaft
Interested to hear what they did for 1k !

Ah yes, the center support bearing (steady bearing), I was thinking you broke one of the ears off the front housing/carrier lol. I think your right though, you cant replace the bearing (with factory parts) you would have to buy a complete shaft. For the guys out of warranty, any decent driveshaft shop could install a replaceable steady bearing on the shaft.

And they better replace my drive shaft because that's what I'm waiting on to come in lol

Well for some reason my posts weren't showing up since I was using the old app. I dropped it off when it was dark and I could barely see as it was. I will get some pictures as soon as I get the truck back.
