I had an 09 xlt and the headrest shoved my head so far forward I bent the rails back. I tried turning them around but that was like not having a headrest.
My 11 the head rest was different.
traded them in and got a 14 fx4 with leather-very comfy with adjustable headrest.
I actually preferred my 03 stx seats with the 60/40 bench but I like my fx4 leather best.

I am not sure how you can make them better. Maybe a memory foam cushion to sit on? Or some other thin padding and try it. There are aftermarket seats that you can get. Maybe a junk yard with a wrecked truck and you can buy the seats. I know that is extreme but might be better than buying a new truck

the seats in my 13 are fairly comfortable. I can drive 10+ hours and just be tired from the drive. I have 6 way power adjust and adjustable headrest. 240 5'9"

Anyway back on topic, were are your pains exactly?
I have to remove my wallet for long trips, but that's cause I have to much junk init, that is with any vehicle.
Is you drivers seat electric? - I had to play with the tilt and elevation of the seat, until my legs stopped felling like i had them dangling of a desk or tabletop, 4 inches from my knee, and feeling like the circulation is being cut off, know they are comfortable as all heck. Also, try adjusting your lumber if equipped, that can play a huge amount into the comfort level, If mine is not cranked at least 3/4s the way out, my rear and legs hurt. I am also 6'2" about 300lbs or so, big difference, and a lot of smaller people complain about the seats, there is another thread dedicated to the leather.
Try checking under your seat and making sure the foam and mesh are installed right, if you need more padding or a stiffer support, you can pull the cloth back and add what you need under the factory foam.

5'10 175 and my xlt cloth seats are very comfortable like already mentioned if you carry a wallet in your back pocket put it in the front, that's what I do. Do you have adjustable pedals? If so then adjust the seat for your arms comfort then hit the button to bring the pedals up to you.

Man i've seen this thread pop up several times. I don't know how anyone can't find a comfortable position with tilt/telescoping steering wheel, power seats that move any which way imaginable and peddles that move forwards or backwards. Excuse me if i'm wrong but most of these trucks have all this except maybe the XL models. I'm 6'1 235lb and never had any dis-comfort in my ride.

Havent had my F150 for to long, but I think the seats are pretty decent. I also like the headrest being so forwar. In my Yukon the headrest are so low and far back they would be pretty much worthless in rear end accident.
