Interesting
Try that again. who knows?https://www.f150forum.com/f70/broken...boosts-242220/
I guess as more and more automakers introduce these type of engines we will learn more and possibly see changes to prolong engine life for all engine types especially the DI ones as that seems to be where Technology has turned.

Keepin' the lights on!
The crud my cans are catching smells of gas also but it doesn't catch on fire with a lighter.
Watch your oil level and get an oil analysis if you feel there is a high level of gas in the oil.

So, after reading a lot of posts (and there are A LOT of them) about catch cans, I have been wondering something. It seems that in the winter the catch can pulls a ton of water out of the PCV system. I know my questions are gonna be almost commonsense.
Without a catch can installed, does all of that water just get "burned" off?.....where does it go? If it does just go straight into the intake valves, then wouldn't that hurt performance (mpg) a good amount??

I love my catch can. I've got the 5.0.
I emptied it on Saturday. Probably a 1/2 cup of tan oily fluid in there. Not as thin or watery as seen above.
Glad my Coyote did not have to ingest that crap.

The PCV line from the passenger valve cover to the intake plenum also evacuates the crank case vapors but only when you are not making boost. Same vapors as above but really no chance to condense and pool, still bad for the valves and performance in general.
