I am guessing my best bet is to buy the coil pack at the dealer? Seems like it took 100,000 miles for the OEM one to go bad.

You can get oem from eBay as well and it will most likely be cheaper

Or from tasca parts. At 100k, I'd get plugs from them too. Do you wash your engine? Sometimes water can get back there in the boots...

I figured I would have to do plugs too. Engine was detailed at about 94,000 miles. I'm sure it was steam cleaned.

I have read were guys end up breaking the plugs off, hope it doesn't happen to me. How tough is it to get to all 8 on a 2009 5.4.

It won't happen to you in 09 they redesign the heads and there have been no more issues for them.

Changed coil pack, truck runs like new. Turns out plugs were changed at 75,000 miles. Feels as strong as a new one.

Have all the intentions of doing just that. I hate to admit changing out coil packs is child's play.

Thanks again
