Had mine changed today. $98 later, fresh mobil 1 synthetic oil. Sat and watched while I sipped my Latte drizzled with caramel and read the paper..J/K Dropped it off while I hit the gym. It was 102 degrees today. Dont mind paying the few extra bucks to help out the local mechanic shop.

Thats what I was trying to get out of him, so its a stereotype that platinum owners dont fix their own stuff? If its a price thing, most 3/4- 1 ton diesels now days cost well into the 50K range and they are the ultimate "work" truck, Im sure many of their owners change the oil themselves because after paying almost 1K a month truck payment they cant afford to change the oil! lol. Its a silly stereotype if thats the case.

Who cares. I don't change it in my truck. By the time you buy everything, deal with getting rid of the oil, etc, $30-some bucks is pretty cheap. Plus my truck is used for work and I don't have much time to fool around with it...I'm typically in the cab working as they are changing the oil.
I do change it in other things I own, such as my four wheeler.

I read every post in this thread, very entertaining.
I let my local Ford dealer change oil in my truck and my wife's SHO, I think it looks good on the Carfax when you go to sell. It's like $50 and they supposedly check the vehicle out pretty well.

My 6.2 takes 7 quarts of oil. I use mobile 1 in everything I own. With it currently going for around $9 per quart at my local auto zone, it would cost me $63 plus the filter plus tax. So in summary, it really only costs me around $25 extra to have someone do it for me and I dont have to worry about the old oil. I always check the filter and oil level at the shop before I roll out. I have heard horror stories before...
