Question DIY Smoked 3rd Brake Light

I know I've seen threads where people have done this but after 40 minutes of searching I give up..

Can somebody point me to one of them? Or advise me on the best way to do this?

VHT spray tint. Remove the light. Prep it with alcohol, let it dry. Spray 3 coats, more or less for how dark you want, than wetsand with 2000 grit. Spray 3 coats of clear coat. Wetsand with 2000 grit. Finish with polishing the light. Pick up some RTV so that you can seal it.

I didn't remove the light I used a garbage bag to tape around the area and sprayed with VHT. Too many horror stories about brake light leak so I didn't want to chance it.
