So I could probably just check out a spring compressor from Autozone down the road and it should take the hard work out of it?

If you have a bottle jack you don't need a spring compressor.

I have a spring compressor, nothing fancy just a set from Auto Zone. Just out of curiosity, would that be sufficient for F-150 springs? I've heard they are tougher to compress than most.

I did mine in about an hour and half start to finish. The passenger went very smooth using a pry bar, but the drivers side was a little tougher. I didn't use a bottle jack or anything extreme. I just pulled the little cap off the middle of the hub and disconnected the CV axle . That let's the LCA come down far enough to get the strut assembly in there. I did the RC 2.5" on a 2013 model. I was nervous about damaging the EPAS, so I unplugged it and disconnected the battery. So far no problems.

I never disconnected the battery. Didn't know I was suppose to. My EPAS is fine a year later.

The instructions for my 2" hell bent kit doesn't say anything anywhere about having to unplug the battery. It's getting installed at a shop across from where I work this morning.
