You can set up your auto start features to what the previous settings were if that helps any. It should be under settings I believe and remote start. A lot of the gripes you have are mainly just compromises that you get with a truck. I don't think you'll find another vehicle that will have the luxury items the F150 has yet can tow and haul a bunch of stuff at the same time.

The only complaints that I see reasonable are the slippery running boards and lack of adaptive cruise control. All of your other complaints really only relate to the SYNC system, which already is pretty advanced and refined compared to units in other NON-LUXURY cars. You're driving a Ford pickup, just saying...

I've had my 2012 F150 FX2 SuperCrew for just over a year now. I had a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab before. While I like my F150, I do have a list of things that I'm not thrilled about in order of disappointment:
Slippery OEM running boards.
Thin body metal.
A/C and heat/cool seat settings don't stay with restart.
Lack of front sensors to use for parking and auto braking and cruise control adjustments.
Lack of way to download destinations with nav system.
Boot up of nav screen takes too long to display backup camera.
Voice control doesn't understand Southern English.
Rear floor mats too small.
Lack of manual backup camera on button when under 5 miles per hr.
Sony subwoofer on rear floor.
Not attaching to 2 phones via Bluetooth at the same time.
Not able to use home wifi to automatically send health reports and download updates.
Nav updates not free during warranty period.

but then again, i don't have nav cause i expected issues like those.
but i do have sync, and i'm paired up with 3 phones.

About the only thing on that list that bothers me is the one that can hurt me or my family members....the running boards. I can't afford to buy them, but I'm seriously considering the AMP power steps just to avoid a fall and resultant broken bones or slipped disk in my back from the slippery OEM boards.

Wow. Great list, I agree with most of that! I especially despise the running boards...and how half of the running board's surface is tucked under the door sill, unusable for big feet. I have a f*cked right shin from a bad accident and have slipped and smoked it a couple times. Terrible running board.

Heat Miser
I seem to remember my climate settings staying put on re-starts....
I only have two gripes, and one of 'em will get fixed when I take it in for its first service.
1. The driver's door rattles when I close it, or when I run over a bump(speed bump etc)
2. Almost EVERY FRIGGEN TIME I place my cell phone on the ledge on top of the Nav screen I hit the fricken hazards. I gotta say that my back-up cam pops right up when I get in, start it up, and head backwards though...
Well I guess I have three gripes.. I have yet to see where my mileage bottoms, and I drive the thing like the accelerator is a land mine. I keep re-setting the gauge when it gets into the 10's because by then I'm stressing out too much.
Edit: I'VE GOT FOUR, I'VE GOT FOUR...!
I noticed just the other day that the top surface(color) on the driver's seat-left bolster- is rubbing off. Granted I usually rub against it when I'm getting in, but I'm sure everyone else does as well. It shouldn't be doing that in under 2k miles.
Something else that'll get fixed at the first service.
Parking sensors on the front of the thing....
Everybody who drives has to deal with parking their vehicle head-in, and the necessity to see as much as possible out of the windshield makes for a pretty good view out of all but maybe a few coupes and/or exotics. The front end/hood on at least the current F-150s is pretty short IMO...maybe raise your seat some so you can see better over the hood. I usually back into parking stalls, myself.. I find it easier to pull into one, especially when the p-king lot is crowded. Started doing it with my dually, and it's now become force of habit for me.
Auto-braking as part of the cruise control... while I find myself using the CC on my truck more than I did on previous vehicles, simply because I get so much better mileage with it on, I really don't mind not having an auto-brake feature on my truck. I don't know about current versions, but when this feature first came out, it used radar. My truck was already way over-priced IMO($52k), as just 5 years ago I purchased a fully-loaded 3500 HD CC 4wd dually with the Duramax/Allison trans for $42k. With what I know of this feature, I can't imagine it being a 'cost-negligible' feature even now, so I wouldn't want it solely for that reason. Plus I trust myself driving. I'd rather not have something else taking over for me. People already have too many excuses to slack-off when they're driving. Re-setting the cruise is easy enough so that I'd rather be in charge of the brakes at all times.
Back up camera having a separate button....don't think you'll ever see this as an OE 'feature', as there's some liability in there for the manufacturer.. never say never though.
Only allowing one phone to be paired with it at a time....mine allows more than one.
Size of the rear mats..haven't noticed that one to tell the truth, but that's a pretty easy problem to solve. Used to be a time when it was so HARD to get floor mats in a new-vehicle, it became a running joke that if you got the dealer to throw them in, you got a smoking deal.
Not being able to 'download' destinations doesn't bother me either. I just punch in the address. If I don't have it, I just ask Susan, or Syriana, or Sicily...whoever the lady is that lives inside iphones...I ask her for the address of where I wanna go, and so far she's found it every time. I also find the iphone's Nav more accurate than the Ford's Nav, but I like looking at it on a bigger screen so I use it predominantly now.
