I just bought a nice 2015 Dodge Challenger. No CD player at all, now that was a surprise but that's how it's going. I had a 6 disc player in my 2005 F150, had to replace it twice because it would just stop working.

Default MP3s

I have over 2500 CDs. I ripped them all to a high quality MP3 format about 5 years ago. I can literally count on one hand the number of CDs that have been in my truck since then. Thumbdrives for the win!

Kind of funny you put it that way, when I worked in the shop I tended to see more issues with the changers with older owners because they tended to force things and not wait.

I've gone through three in dash changers in my car, one simply failed, one I'm pretty sure I damaged and the third one still works.

I'm 47 by the way.

I hadn't seen one of these in years and now this the second one I' seen in two weeks. One of the shows on Velocity had one that had been salvaged from a junk car. Of course the kids on the show had no idea what it was. They took it to their expert who hooked it up and showed them how worked. Estimated value was $1k.

BTW my first ever car mod/add on was a Pioneer 4 track player that I installed in my first ever car a 1960 Ford Falcon.

You were the talk of the town if you had one of these.

4TB portable hard drive stashed in the glove compartment of my 2011 xlt, attached to my Kenwood Nav unit... plenty of storage space..... put it on Random and hardly ever hear the same song twice in a week on my daily 80km round trip to work.

The truck I traded in for the f150 was a 2009 Tacoma. Bought it brand new. I never once attempted to use the CD player in that truck or my new one. So I haven't needed a CD player in my vehicle for 6 years, minimum.

I wish neither came with one so the dash would look cleaner!
