Well NADA shows about the same for trade as KBB but retail is $400 less than I bought it for. Not sure I trust either.

This couldn't be further from the truth. When I purchased my truck in August I was eligible for the best rate Ford credit offered at that point in time which was 6.9%.(I could have easily gotten 3.5% at any number of places) I waited the allotted time the dealer had requested I wait prior to refinancing the note. I refinanced at a little under 3.5% last week.

Regardless of credit the manufacturer is rarely your best bet for a good rate. That's a known fact.

To the OP. My refi was done last week without a hitch through my dealer after making just four payments on the original note. I highly doubt the bank loan value on my truck was close to what I owed on it, yet it wasn't an issue. I'm quite sure on paper I'm further upside down than yourself. I had zero problems.

Might try your dealer. I bet they could get it done for you.

I wasn't implying you did, sorry it came across that way. I commented also the rates must be regional. That is probably why some of you are getting offered only higher rates. 0% and 1.9% is almost always available in our area. Sorry, didn't mean to offend you. My sister is a loan officer for a bank, people get denied with high scores and have to pay higher rates all the time even with high scores.

I've never seen nor heard of a $43,000 sticker price on a XLT. I didn't know Ford had that many option for an XLT. Except for 4 wheel drive my XLT sticker price was $35,000.

What options did you get?

No problem, I just feel the 6.9 is too high and in my area it's still a buyers market because the economy is weak. And I will not stay at a 4.2% higher rate. I will tell my dealer the same thing if they ask at oil changing time.

FWIW I just built an XLT that MSRP for $47,930 US. (That included wheel well liners, spray in-liner, rubber floor mats) Otherwise it's just factory options. (6.2, 6.5, crew, bucket seats, chrome, 20"s ,etc)

They aren't cheap anymore.... You can option out a platinum to 60k.....

Here is where the loss of value comes from. Our local dealer is taking 27% off that 44,400, that makes the sale price $32,412. I bought my truck, $48,865 BEFORE discounts. They took 25% off and I paid 36,648 + sales tax. I bought it outright so there was NO BS numbers to do hocus pocus with. It's a cut and dry deal. http://www.fairwayford.us/
