Disappointed in 5.0L but maybe faulty

My 5.0 is fast as hades and I can't imagine anyone thinking it was dog-slow. My co-workers were impressed when I launched from a stoplight last week. Granted, it is performance tuned and has a CAI and catback exhaust, but even the stock configuration had decent acceleration.

But if it was in transport mode wouldn't there be a warning on the info screen telling you the truck is in transport mode?

So, here are the possible scenarios:
It was in transport mode
The emergency brake was on
There is something seriously wrong with that one specific motor
You posted your review to intentionally dog the 5.0 with a made up story
You sell Chrysler products
The burning smell was you smoking crack, and you imagined the poor performance in your state of mind

I'm surprised you think the 5.0 was sluggish, transport mode is definitely a possibility.
You can clear the transport mode warning by hitting the reset button on the steering wheel so its possible that it was still on just not visible.
That engine can get that truck from 0-60 in just over 7 seconds I think? Which is not slow at all as far as I'm concerned. My 5.0 is a rocket.

This is what I was thinking. The 5.0 is a rock solid engine. It gets up and hauls ***!

It's the pentastar that I find sluggish. Was all set to buy the wife one of the new 200 limited's with the 3.6 in it expecting it to fly and it felt very sluggish to me. More like 200hp not 263.
Anyways my 5.0 is strong and quick but I don't find it quick off the line because it doesn't hit its torque curve until almost 3000rpm.

My 2012 Screw 4x4 is equipped with a 5.0 and 3:73 gears. I run nothing but 91 octane and this truck flat out gets with it! Considering adding a Roush Supercharger (525 hp) and custom striping that would read "BOSS F150."
