It's an electrical connector for a different circuit, don't screw with it.

Glad to see this thread, so last year I had arrived at a primitive camp site after dark, and tried using my headlights to set up. Well, after a few minutes they shut off, ending up starting the truck so I could see.
so, unplugging connector "10" will defeat this feature, this is the connector for circular sensor around the negative cable ??
and no real side effects ?

Well, the computer will still set a 30 minute timer for running the radio without the engine running. You can reset it by opening the door and turning the radio on again.
And it's not exactly an instant fix for everything, your battery has probably been weakened and it will take some time to heal.

Is there any benefit to disabling this? I ran 8 years on the original battery here in Michigan. Only replaced it out of caution- it was still holding a charge fine and tested well within specs.

If you drive your truck everyday and or live in a warm climate location you may not have a problem. But I can tell you from experience letting it sit three days in single digit temps means a dead battery. Even one that's almost new. The whole concept of not fully charging a battery is not just nuts, it's buck nuts. That's a greater level of nuttiness.
