What do you mean by "it will set a code".

The "Smart Charge feature" is a monitored system, (Battery Monitoring System) unplug a sensor it expects info from and it'll set a code. You wouldn't know it unless you pulled codes with Torque Pro or IDS or some other program.

Thanks, I'll need to know that since our state inspection checks for codes held by the computer.

Never heard of any inspection checking anything other than powertrain codes. It will not set a code in that memory. You can just plug it back in and it'll self erase next key cycle if your concerned.

It's not part of the I/M Readiness check for emissions to pass here in Ontario, Canada. Mines been disconnected and I checked with 3 different scanners before I took it in and all said it was ready and it passed.

Before disconnecting Stupid Charge, in 40’f temps, my starter sounded slow, after disconnecting Stupid Charge, starter spins like a top in the coldest weather.

PS, I still have the original battery, 2013 truck. (And jumper cables)

Most likely because the battery is fully charged like it's supposed to be.

How long since you disconnected?
