Did my first oil change Sunday...whatta mess!
So learned a few days ago to
1. Never do an oil change on the SCREW without being on level ground
2. Dont do it in your driveway if you care about getting oil on the pavement
I guess the truck being on a slight incline built a little more pressure once I released the drain plug, and the interference from the sway bar caused oil to go everywhere. There was no stopping the carnage, and I think I would have needed twice the standard sized drain pan to catch the splatter.
Oil filter was actually easier to get to than I thought, but the inline also made the oil miss the drain channel and it ran down the back of the "perforated" skid plate. I'll either drop that next time or just do it out in the back yard where the ground is more level.
Oh well...lessons learned! Was a fun learning experience though. Any pointers on getting oil out of the driveway?

Before I installed a Fumoto valve, I used a funnel to direct the oil into the drain pan. Loosen the drain plug, stick the funnel up as close to the drain as possible, remove drain plug and hold the funnel to direct the oil...
Buy a Fumoto valve (F107-N) before you change again and never worry again.

Agree...had mine install several years ago...works like a champ... a tad slow to drain...just drink an extra beer and your good...
