Default Determining fuse size for led's

I'm wiring up some cut to length smd 5050 LEDs and have an inline fuse to each set. Just wondering if there's a rule of thumb for determining fuse size for accessories if it's not listed. I calculated the sets range from .4A-5A based off of the lengths I cut and was wondering what size fuse to put in. I know with wire you fuse to the wire size but unsure about actual accessories.

LED's don't pull enough current to really warrant a fuse. Milliamps at most.

True, but the fuse will help prevent an electrical fire in the event of a short.

With the low amp draw, a 5A or 10A fuse should be more than sufficient.

Thanks guys! I calculated the bed led lights will draw about 5 amps. I was pretty sure I could get by without one but I'd like the extra safeguard as I am a newbie to this wiring stuff and I don't mind a little extra protection to cover my ****.

The lights will not draw 5A but that would be a good sized fuse in the event of a wire short to ground.

You could light all the way around the box and still only likely pull 1-2A depending on the lumens of the leds.

Go with 5 Amps Machine, you'll be good!

Maybe I'm doing my math wrong, these are SMD 5050, LEDs, they are brighter than the 3528 LEDs. The specs say 72w for 5M (16.4'), so about 6A for the whole run. I'll be using a little less than the roll, about 13' so I figured about 4.8A total. I'm new to all this stuff, am I calculating wrong?

I have two 4' strips of 5630 (which are 2x Brighter than 50/50's) leds one per bed rail for Bed-lights, running off a lit switch! I'm using a 5 Amp fuse for them no Issues!
