Default Delivery Question?

My ordered FX2, EcoBoost will be at the dealer any day now.
The truck was built in MO. I live in VA. It has been on a train
and I guess a truck to get to my dealer.
Are there any things in particular that I should be looking for
that may have happened to the truck in it's travels before I
hand over the $$$$$. Thanks for the help.

make sure there is no rail dust all over it. make sure there are no dents or dings anywhere, especially the roof. go over it with a fine tooth comb, it will pay off in the long run.

Re: rail dust, on a vehicle as new as this, will you actually be able to "see" it? I thought the only time you really knew if there is any is when the "dust" starts to rust.

Also, how much protection from rail dust does the shrink wrap they use on vehicles offer?

Thanks so much for the information and attaching the
threads. You can bet I will be all over that truck when
it comes in.

Mine has a very small hardly noticeable dent on the backside of the cab about halfway between the left door and the brake light. Took it to the dealer, they agreed it was most likely shipping damage but said it was too late to be reported like that.

It's been snowing and/or raining and/or "unknown precip" (Whatever that means) ever since the truck arrived except for yesterday - and even the slightest amount of water masks the dent. The person who checked the truck out was the same one who did the delivery inspection when it arrived and agreed that he probably missed it.

They're going to repair it at their cost.

if by chance his is white or silver, yes you will see it. even before it starts to "rust". you will be able to feel it as well, no matter what color he bought. the white plastic "shrink wrap" you are talking about is very good at protecting from rail dust, and everything else to be honest. the problem with it is removing it. sometimes it comes off in one piece, other times it comes off in small pieces. it can leave adhesive residue all over too. i used to detail cars for Chevy, Toyota and Nissan, and they all used it.
