Hope you have better luck with it than I did, one of the clips went flying off and I ended up pulling it off. Still need to contact them. I liked it while it worked, but it only worked for a couple of weeks.

I installed mine a week ago - I really like it. Hopefully the issue with the clips is not a common one.

On my 2010, the Dee Zee was constantly having its cord caught and pinched by the tailgate when closing....I finally took it off and threw it out....did they change things recently so that the restraining cord folds better and stays out of the way of the closing tailgate?

I have had the Dee Zee for a few months now. I open my tailgate just a few times a week and I have had no issues. One time the cord got caught but it took 2 seconds to open, move it over, then re-close.

What cord? The one I just installed is simply a pneumatic cylinder, like the ones that hold up the hood. No cord on mine.

Same thing happened to me. I called them and they sent me a new one. No hassle at all. They only thing they asked for was the model and the manufacture date which is on the shock itself.
