Default Dee Zee Tailgate Assist Help

Hi Everyone,

I am struggling with the installation of the nutsert using the nut set tool. No matter what I do, I am not able to get the nutsert to expand in the opening near the pivot point of the tailgate. I have followed the instructions without any luck. The part number I have is DZ43200 and I have a 2012 F150 FX4. I even doubled checked the website and that is the correct part number. I have even watched some YouTube videos and cannot figure our what I am doing wrong.

I am usually very handy, so I am either missing something very simple or maybe I have the wrong part(s).

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Mike

When you put the nutsert in the hole how many turns did you put on the nut.

I turned it 10 time and it worked.

Try using needle nose pliers to keep the spacers from spinning once it starts to tighten. I just put this on last week and had the same problem, Now it is installed and I'm very happy

You have to turn it more then 9 times...Turn it 9 times then unscrew it and then set it up again.I think I did mine about 3 times before it was tight....but be careful you don't strip it.

This is basically what I had to do to.
9 turns was not enough, and i had to reset the adapter again.

Thanks everyone. I was not thinking straight at all and was turning the alan key instead of the nut against the washer. Turned it 9 revolutions the proper way and it worked like a charm. Very happy with how it works. Thanks again for your input and I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

If I put the loctite on the threads, how would I go about tightening it with the nutsert tool again?
