Dee Zee tailgate assist
I just installed my Dee Zee tailgate assist, after a bit of pain with nutsert tool( 9@ 360 degree turns my ***) happy to say it works like a charm. Anyone else have issues with yours?

I just tightened till it felt right. Haven't had any problems.

Installed mine a few weeks ago but used a nut and washer on the ball stud inside the tailgate instead of installing the nutsert. There's a thread here about it, believe it's called the Raptor mod.
No issues so far. It works great!

Going on 2 years now and mine is still solid.

Good to hear! I turned it the 9 times but it stayed loose, cranked it a bit more and put the threaded bolt in and the thread didn't catch enough, a few more turns did the job . Reason for posting was that Dee Zee made it sound ultra crucial for the 9 revolutions but it's more about feel, just for anyone who struggles with following their instruction on this step.
Cheers!

Mine comes loose every week. You can't expect a nutsert that is designed for a round hole to stay tight in the Ford tailgate elongated hole.
I have a new 10mm ball stud made of stainless that will go in as soon as the weather here gets warm enough. The threads are larger diameter than the one that is supplied by Dee Zee and will fit the elongated hole much better. The other end will have an Serrated Stainless Flange nut that will hold it in place and never come loose.

I called after my first one came loose and was told number of turns is closer to 12 vs 9!
It still came loose so I ditched it and did the washer and nut method and it hasn't moved in over two years.

Had mine for 6 months and love it. Only complaint is when it's cold it gets stiff but then what works like it should when it's cold. Going in month #5 of winter here in the northeast.
