decisions!!! 33s or 35s that is the Question
So my truck has about 28k miles now and the front stock tires are pretty much trashed. the reason they are trashed is my fault. ive never rotated them.
im looking at putting some new tires on very quickly. i wana go with toyo open country mud terrains but im just not sure what size yet. i dont wana go with 33s and regret not going 35s. i have a 2.5'' autospring leveling kit on the front and a 1.5'' readylift block on the rear. The new rims i have sitting in my garage or 20x9 BMF novakanes in death metal. im pretty sure they are a 0 offset. just give me some open and honest opinions. Just wana make the right decision. the difference in price is on like $60 so thats not the factor.

i put 34 x 11 r20 goodyear duratracs on mine and i love them.
they are quiet, big, don't rub, and they don't screw up my gas mileage because they are same width as stock.

Just put a 4 inch rancho lift in mine with xd monsters 18x9 -12 offset and nitto trail grapplers.
I can tell you that 35x12.50 will not clear. Now keep in mind it is also tire dependant. Nitto tires actually run big. The 35x12.50 is actually a 35.01x13.39 tire. However the width is not as much an issue as height.
I also looked at the toyos and they are actually 35.2x12.9 I believe.
With a 0 offset you may run into width issues but maybe not. You will definitely run into height issues especially with a 2.5 " level only.
I had to go to a 295/70/18 and in the nitto that is a 34.57x12 tire. That clears.......... Barely and I mean barely. But it does clear with absolutely no rubbing in any direction or at full lock. Now keep in mind that's with a 4" lift kit.
Unless you are ok with cutting out the back of your wheel well and probably bending some metal a bit I would say measure and don't go any higher than a 34 for your set up.
Hopefully this will help

I have 2" level up front and 1" on rear and the Nitto 295/70-18's clear with no rubbing at all on my 4x4. I put 1/4 inch spacers on to widen the stance a touch and give it more clearance. Zero rubbing even in the woods.

Looks like your neighbor has a similar pickup
If I could do it all over again I'd go with this A/T Toyo LT275/65R20 126S E/10 (34X11.0R20) 301140 tire for 4 different reasons:
1. I like the idea of it being bigger than a 33 but smaller than a 35. A 35 won't fit with your setup but a 33 is only 1" bigger than stock..what's the point.
2. It's 11 inches wide. It has less surface area thus reducing drag, which won't hurt your mpg so much
3. Since you're going with a 0 offset rim, you're going to need a narrower tire so it doesn't rub.
4. It's an A/T and not an M/T...the 12.5" wide M/T kills mpg
To me those tires kill 4 birds with one stone.

Exactly. I did 275/65/20s on my last Tundra and thought it looked a little narrow on a 20x9. they were cheap since most of the diesel trucks use that size. The 295 width should give it just a little more meat. There is also a 305/60/20, but last i checked I only saw them made in a Goodyear and Toyo.
